Paul and Allan Discuss Belongings
Allan: Paul I love your flowers, I love your home and the way nature flows around it. The experience is a quiet, hollow one especially at night under the full moon. It’s so still but I know the flowers are just suns that got stuck in the dirt and decided to turn purple.
Paul: Why thank you kindly Allan and you know what? You stack your juniper pies correctly and one day you could own a nice piece of real estate too then you could plant your own flowers and contribute to society.
Allan: See Paul here’s the difference between you and I. I know the Kimqualcom title will have your name written! I know your neighbours title will say Paul and their neighbours two doors down will say Paul but your flowers are mine and the materials of your house are mine. Everything beautiful I possess in my own heart and because I don’t worry about the possession of the title I possess everything all the more.
Paul: Only I have the security of my own home because of Kimqualcom. While you’re sleeping on park benches I’m in the comfort of my palace with not one worry. I am totally serene because I know if I open my file cabinet and look and see whose name is written on the document it will say Paul. Let me repeat, it will say Paul. Not Allan. Paul.
Allan: Indeed Paul! It is so. Paul is written there! I have seen it myself. But because you possess the title, the wood and the flowers out of fear you can never experience them. The wood you call your palace is really your prison! I see all your possessions for what they really are and that’s why I alone cherish them. When I sleep under the stars I feel as comfortable as I would be If I were sleeping under your roof. Just remember as you lay down on your memory foam mattress all you own belongs to me then join me and we’ll hold hands and stare up at the light.
